LCSW

Mr. Philip Wiener, LCSW, is a psychodynamically trained psychotherapist who received his MSW from Columbia University. He has been a psychotherapist for forty-one (41) years and works with adults, couples, and families. He has advanced training in the treatment of anxiety disorders, the treatment of trauma, grief counseling, treatment of depression, couples therapy, family therapy, short term treatment, and crisis intervention. Philip has extensive experience in running workshops on a wide number of issues including on parenting, single parenting, the blended family, and the treatment of holocaust survivors.

Early in his career, Philip ran a Crisis Intervention Center in Bronx, New York. Subsequently he moved with his family to Connecticut, where he served as Executive Director of two different State Licensed Outpatient Psychiatric Agencies for twenty five (25) years. These experiences offered him the opportunity to supervise and train many other psychotherapists while managing the growth of these multi-service agencies. One result of the preceding is that Philip brings a particular skill set to the challenges faced by employees, managers, and executives in the business world.

Philip is deeply committed to his clients and truly values the strength and courage that it takes for people to reach out for help. His engaging, supportive, skillful, and productive approach to each individual encourages hope and progress in the face of crisis.
